a/n: This is the fic in which I scored second place in competition_fun's April Hodgepodge contest and originally posted here. Much thanks to azardarkstar, not only for the beta-work but for also giving me this awesome plot bunny.

Long silence, I know. But busy work times make for less posting. Alas. But I return with good news! Part of my month had been overtaken by this prompt from a writing contest that pretty much ate my brain.
Good news ahead! )

Ergh. Wireless internet constantly goes out. Why???

Anyhow, it's February 1st. Primus! Where did January go? Either way, it's February now and I've got to set my monthly goal. I met... about eighty percent of last month's goal. I'd love to manage 100% of my goals this month.

To this year's snagger of the 60K hit count on my fanfiction website Pandora's Box.

Congratulations to Sabrena Evanson aka ancientlybroken who's won and requested a Justice League fic I am very excited to get to work on!

Next up for grabs is the 66666K hit and the 11111K hit is still waiting for someone to snatch on my original website.

dracoqueen22: (Cantlookyouintheeyes)
Ugh. Sickness. Why are you inevitable around Xmas time?

Ahem. Today I'm just bringing a reminder about the hit count contests on my two websites. The fanfiction website is a mere 129 hits from the magic #60000. He (or she) who snags that number gets a fic of their choice from a fandom I know. The original fiction website is just behind that with 283 hits until #11111. The winner gets a fic of their choice, something based in my universes or some random idea of their own, whatever it may be.

Another reminder, too, that flash fiction friday returns this Friday, December 16th. Get your requests ready!
dracoqueen22: (samcham)
a/n: Another update to A Thousand Words. This one, in particular, is a fic owed to a hit count winner and it's about time. Also, I've edited it twice, but there may be some grammatical errors still. Apologies in advance.

Rating: M
Warning: smut, language, oral, handjob, self-service, May-December pairing
Description: Flesh appeases Ladon's hunger, but Geryon asks for something more enticing. Rue learns this lesson the hard way.
Inspired by a song of the same title by Metallica.
For Olivia, who won the 8888th hit on the Den of Debauchery.

Shake the Eight and Celebrate

The Eight Ball will help celebrate our eighth anniversary here at Torquere Press! Join us for the celebration!

We're having a reader scavenger hunt with weekly gift basket prizes and a grand prize (this year, a brand-new 3G Kindle along with a CD of stories from each participating author), plus daily prizes of gift certificates to show our appreciation to you -- our readers! Check our blog, http://glbtromance.blogspot.com/ where we'll have a number of our authors visiting the whole month. We'll post excerpts, hang out to chat, and talk about our stories.

In addition to the grand prize of the Kindle, we're giving away gift baskets every week! Some are silly, some are smutty, and all are fun. The themed ones are: m/m, ménage, BDSM, and lesbian plus our authors have chipped in with extra goodies.

Here's how to play. Visit our contest page, http://www.torquerebooks.com/contest/contactmain.html, and start scavenging for the Eight Ball answers. Visit the author pages and find the graphic somewhere on their site. An online form is set up, and we'll randomly choose a winner for the Kindle from all of the correct entries. Plus, every day, readers will have the chance to win a Torquere gift certificate and a gift basket.

Help us celebrate our eighth anniversary and ask the Eight Ball your question… Like, will I win a prize from Torquere Press?

Thanks, and have fun playing.

a/n: Good afternoon! Today, I bring you one of the won and requested fics. This one's pretty angsty, my friends, and it's my attempt at filling in some of the behind the scene blanks. Also, I totally blame this fic on the fact I'd just seen X-Men: First Class and spent the next 48 hours reading angsty X-Men fanfic....

Recommended listening: "Set Fire to the Rain," Adele. "Get Around This," Safety Suit. "Stay With Me," Hurts.

Title: Set Fire to the Rain
Pairings: Aizen/Urahara
Rating: M
Warnings: Spoilers, AU-ish, Dub-con
Words: 3,979
Description: There’s a side to him Kisuke never knew, and the games he played were never true. Save one.

Dedication: For sharingan_ita who was the 50000th hit on my website Pandora's Box.

The irony of this is that Kisuke is asking questions that Sousuke cannot answer, not even for himself. )

Good morning everyone! Happy Earth Day! Which is also, coincidentally, Good Friday. Though I don't ascribe to that faith and have no idea what it means, some people on my f-list might so have a Good Friday, too.

It's a wet and chilly day here on my corner of the planet, and I've been drafted into a three hour shift on my day off. Boo. But that doesn't mean we can't have a flash fiction Friday.

Good evening everyone!

Today I bring you the last piece of flash fiction, submitted before the poll closed and the results of the poll. First, however, the ficcage!

For [livejournal.com profile] nati_a
Prompt: Urahara or Hisagi, “The Best of You” or “Plush”

Poll Results and Flash Ficcage! )

I'm of the mind that the more novels under my belt, the better, so I'm just crazy enough to challenge myself to TWO novel-writing months a year. The ever-familiar NaNoWriMo in November and then the mid-year Nano-Like event that I usually take on sometime in April or May. Well, it's April now, too late to start. But May is just around the corner.

As always, however, I just can't decide what to work on. I've too many stories I'm eager to get started, so I don't know how to choose.

Therefore, dear friends and readers, I ask you to help me. This has the added benefit of extending Flash Fic Friday past, well, Friday. *laughs*

a/n: Please READ the warnings. That's all I ask.

Title: Looking Glass
Genre: Horror, Short Story
Warnings: mentions of slashy sex, mindfuck, gore, character death, het, NSFW, darkfic, angst
Description: Devon will never understand it. There's no sense to it. No rhyme or reason. None at all.
Dedication: For [livejournal.com profile] sarshi_k , who was the 7777th hit on my website, the Den of Debauchery, and won this fic.

Inspired by “Looking Glass,” by The Birthday Massacre.

A boyish notion of false emotion. These words are spoken, despite my love. A fool's devotion was set in motion. )

This is just a flyby reminder of the usual contests. Real Life has been BUSY so I've not been able to prepare anything for LJ or update anything as of late.

But don't forget that Flash Fiction Friday returns tomorrow!

Also, as of this posting, there are 1547 more hits until Pandora's Box - the fanfiction site -- hits 44444, giving you a chance to request a oneshot of your choice of fandom and pairing.

And as of this posting, there are 578 more hits until the Den of Debauchery -- the original fiction site -- hits 8888 and a chance to win either a free copy of my book or a request fic of your choosing.

I'll see everyone tomorrow!
dracoqueen22: (samcham)
To [livejournal.com profile] sarshi_k , who nabbed the 7777th hit on Draco's Den of Debauchery, my personal archive of all my original fiction. She's challenged me with quite the interesting fic idea that's already got my muses stirring, so I should have a new short story for your perusal within a couple months. It's guaranteed to make ya shiver!

That means that the 8000th hit is right around the corner. Keep your eyes peeled and try to be the lucky visitor to nab 8000 on the hit counter. The winner has a choice between a copy of one of my novels or an original fic of your choosing (your own plot or an addendum to one of my series, take your pick).

Congratulations, Sarshi!
dracoqueen22: (hotandcold)
Just a reminder for those of you wondering when you might get a chance for some free swag.

Contests!! )

Good evening everyone!

I know I promised to post the winners yesterday, but RL intervened in the form of a close-open shift back-to-back. I didn't have time to sleep much less post, so today I announce the winners.

Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] mistress_pirate  who scored the free copy of any one of my three novels, and [livejournal.com profile] hockeyiris , who scored the Amazon gift certificate. Shoot me a PM or an e-mail so I know where to send your goodies!
