Fanfic Rec: Keelywolfe

dracoqueen22Time for another recommendation from me! And as befitting my recent obsession with Transformers, this author writes TF fic. And other fandoms, too, but right now, I'm obsessed with Transformers.

keelywolfe , who's writing style sucked me in from day one. I started reading her Avatar: the Last Airbender fics and then dove right into her Transformers when I ran out of AtLA. Her grasp of characterization is phenomenal, her sex scenes stunningly hot, and her execution of style downright lovely. That is to say, it's not riddled with grammatical mistakes. Which is a big YAY in my book.
So first, her AtLA series, there are several, but the longest of which is Taking Turns, which is, in the end, ZukoxSokka (with hints of past JetxZuko which is my weakness). But along the way, we get some cute kissing scenes between Zuko and the GAang. I also enjoy that it follows along with canon, occurring during the downtime in canon, seeing scenes we haven't seen. Then, it follows AFTER canon in one scene so hilarious that I laughed aloud and had my mother look at me strangely.
She also has a series called "Not Bored" which is SokkaxJetxZuko, something which makes me drool every single time. I'm helpless in the face of it. A third series, called "Insomniacs" is darker, with some HakodaxZuko leading into ZukoxSokka. Not for every one, but tickles my dark tastebuds.
Then, of course, is her Transformers series, called the Human Series. It's smutty, of course, which is for the most part, holo-sex. Something I didn't think I'd be fond of because it's always seemed like such a cop out to me, avoiding the things which makes Transformers all kinds of awesome. Which is why initially, I avoided this series. But holy crap, once I gave it a chance, I wish I hadn't avoided it in the first place. More than the holo sex, it was the characterization that dragged me in. She's got such a great grasp on the characters that I didn't even care it was holo sex. The pairings are, for the most part, Sam/Bee, Sideswipe/Sunstreaker, and on occasion, Optimus/Ratchet.
Each of these pairings have their own bits of pain and drama and happiness. I especially adore the convoluted agony of Sunstreaker and Sideswipe's relationship. More than the SamBee, which isn't my favorite pairing but works so well in this fic, I adore the Twins' relationship so, so much.
Of course, aside from all the romance and smut there's still PLOT in the background, which makes things deliciously tense all around. Especially since most recent chapters keep leaving us on cliffhangers. So cruel, but they do keep me coming back for more. Of course, this review says it far, far better than I could.
