Of New Obsessions

So umm. I intended to write lots of fic and post a bunch in August.

But then I got curious. I started watching Transformers: Rescue Bots on youtube because people were writing fics with them on the kinkmeme. I'd been avoiding it cause, well, it's for even littler kids than TF:Prime and... *hangs head* 

I'm addicted now. It's too adorable for words and I'm not a person who really likes adorable things. I'm so very convinced that Chase is Prowl and Mirage's kid (thinking in terms of Event Horizon's verse, of course). And Blades. He's the sweetest, cutest bot on there. Boulder's enthusiasm and Heatwave's growly temperament just sealed the deal. Also, I approve of these humans. They don't irritate me like some of the other humans in other shows. Maybe because they actually have a legitimate reason for being around the bots? (I adore Graham. Geeks need moar love!)

I also approve of how many fanon and Cybertronian terms they use as opposed to the human equivalent. For instance, Rescue Bots refers to optics and helms and circuits, etc. Not even TF: Prime does that.

So. I intended to write but instead spent the past week marathoning Rescue Bots. And then, as we are wont to do whilst on youtube, clicked on related videos and discovered TFA.

I've never seen TFA and only read a few fics here and there that don't require much knowledge of the series to enjoy. But I caught one episode on the Hub by accident and while I find Bumblebee more irritating than Sari, I'm now interested in this show, too. *headdesk* I blame Ratchet! He's so crotchety and I can't help myself when it comes to Ratchet.

Oh, Transformers, why do you invade my life??

All I need now is to get ahold of all of the comics, especially the new ones. Just what I need. More obsession. *facepalm*

So maybe we'll see some ficlets in Rescue Bots and TFA. I just gotta let the thoughts percolate. Until then, I've got to get back to work on everything else. August 24th, TF Prime returns, so I've got to get Critical Mass up and running. *grins*

Any other fans of Rescue Bots out there or am I alone in my enjoyment of a show for elementary students? lol

=D You shouldn't be embarrassed. XD Admittedly, I like TFA a bit more. It's a lot of fun. O_O An they just aren't afraid to change things up. Although, admittedly, Bee is an annoying little jerk. lol.

I've only seen a few episodes of TFA so far. It's hard to form an opinion yet, though my opinion of Bumblebee right now is that he's an annoying little jerk. lol.

TFA does like to switch things up a bit, I noticed, from the usual TF background. Though they didn't quite avoid the whole Optimus dies/gets resurrected angle. lol. It's a Transformers staple!

So far, though, I still like TFP more just because I get a lot more Ratchet screen time and we get a bit more characterization than we did in the original G1 cartoon. Admittedly, the G1 cast was outrageously huge...

Yeah, some things remain the same, others...change dramatically. =D I love the Cons in TFA. Actually...I like them more than the bots. XD BC...really...I'm more sympathetic to them.

I LOVE Prime. And while I like that they have kept the cast small...I kinda with it was a bit bigger. More world building and such.

And yeah. G1's cast is giant. X_X And the characterization is like a roller coaster. XD
