Happy New Year! And Happy New Decade!

I’m not much for New Years Resolutions, but I do like to make plans for things I hope to accomplish for the New Year. Mostly goals for myself so I have something to focus on, rather than staring aghast at all my many projects without having a clue where to start. Lists are wonderful things, and I’m a huge dork who loves to make lists.

So let’s start with IRL goals first. I’m about 35k in debt right now thanks to medical bills and family emergencies. Most of it is not my debt, unsurprisingly, as I’m actually rather fiscally responsible, but such is the way of life when your family needs you. So my goal is to reduce my current overall debt by 15% as of the start of 2021. So hopefully, I’ll come back in 2021 and celebrate the fact I knocked my overall debt down to about 30k.

Health-wise, I’d like to finally find a GYN who doesn’t skeeve me out and who listens to my needs, and can begin to address my uterine issues in a way that actually solves the problem rather than preserves the organ I don’t plan on using, for a hypothetical use I’m not intending. I would also like to lose about eight pounds by the end of 2020, and increase my weekly active minutes from 30 to 60, to improve my overall health and wellbeing, not to mention continuing to gradually reduce my processed sugar intake.

On to the fun stuff!

I’d like to play at least three of the new video games I have on my shelf, across all of the platforms that have been gathering dust. Play and complete them, no less. I’d also like to read at least twelve original novels and/or graphic novels/comics, preferably by indie or minority creators.

I would love to be able to start a fiction review blog to help out those independent creators who need reviews to better market their books. Identifying the logistics, realities, and time-consumption of such a blog is what I intend to tackle in 2020, with the hopes that if it’s viable, to start in 2021.

I want to revamp my commissions sheet as well, make it more streamlined and clarify a few things about the terms and conditions, not to mention updating my prices. I do think I won’t be taking anything longer than 10k in this new version, and I will not be accepting multi-chapter commissions either. They’re too time-consuming and would need to be priced at a higher scale than one-shot commissions anyway.

I would really like to embrace my original fiction in 2020 as well. I intend to continue my various fanfic series, with the intention of completing as many as I can, but I do want to shift my focus to more of a 70/30 split in favor of original fiction. I want to build my universes, write novels, short stories, scripts, etc. I really hope to get a good backlog of content so I can start a personal website that’ll hopefully bring in a little bit of income to help with things.

That being said, these are the twelve titles I plan on tackling in 2020 and fingers crossed I can knock them all out.
  1. Sunstreaker/Sideswipe/Soundwave Harpyformers (Scars of Yesterday)
  2. Uncharted Territory Part Two
  3. Bloodlines
  4. Despicable Me
  5. All This and Heaven, too -- Family Found
  6. Sands of Fate -- Trial by Sword
  7. Finish Glint/Aurelius Novel
  8. Another Horseman AU Novel
  9. Aftermath Rewrite
  10. Tethers Arc I
  11. Outline A Royal Pursuit Sequel
  12. Outline The Heist

Of course, I will most likely work on things “off the menu”, too, but these are the items I want to focus on when I’m not sure what to work on.

I have a lot of plans, a lot of things I want to try, and for once, I’m feeling pretty optimistic about it. So good luck to everyone else out there, and Happy New Year! <3
