dracoqueen22Today, my friends, I come to you to right a terrible wrong. One completely on my part. I have been eagerly pushing forward all my favorite authors and fics for your greedy eyes and I have neglected to recommend someone who should have been first. I've yet to pimp my best friend and brain twin. FOR SHAME.
So today, I've come to extol on her virtues, and really just encourage everyone to check out some awesome fic. And leave comments, because comments are nice things and the world could use a bit more nice things. *grins* Besides, she pimps ME all the time and it seems only fair that I do so in return. Yes?
And when I say brain twin, it's the creepy truth, because I swear we read each other's mind sometimes. It's a bit scary. But it's awesome, because then we come up with awesome fic, like say Buyer's Remorse. We came up with that overnight and it was written within two days. I'm so proud of that fic, too.
I'm not the sort to just tell people it's good 'cause they are my friends, so when I say she's good, I mean it. If you are at ALL a fan of my Bleach fic, The Beautiful Lie or Of Violence or hell, Minutes to Midnight, then you are a fan of Azar's. Same if you've read my original fic The Edge of Tomorrow. Why do I say this? Because she wrote some of those chapters when my muses refused to obey. She's written at least a third of The Beautiful Lie, and that's not counting the interludes. So you've already read some of her work there.
Now, let me introduce you to some other stuff. She's got a huge collection of Harry Potter. I'm not a huge Harry Potter reader, so I can't really comment on that. But it's there. For the reading. Check it out.
She also writes Bleach. *grins* She's got a Hitsugaya/Gin 30 Kisses series called Prodigal Son that's as heartwarming as it is heartbreaking, and every heart-emotion in between. I'd definitely recommend that one. She's got dozens of one shots, as she's not much of an extended fic writer, but there are some real gems in there.
Like Mastermind, which is from Nanao's POV. Nanao doesn't get enough love, I swear it. Unrivaled is a Urahara piece, excellently crafted. I love fics that focus on Urahara and how smart (or not smart in this case), he is. She also wrote Juxtaposition, which is HitsuKarin, one of my favorite het pairings. I squee loudly at this. The Second Sin is a Renji piece, and it blows me away every time. It really highlights how Renji gets shafted in so many ways. Malicious Intent is a fic set in my Minutes to Midnight 'verse, and it gives background to Hanatarou.
And SO many others. I'd recommend any of them.
She also writes Transformers, and I'll admit, she's pulled me into the fandom. She's got a wonderfully dark and gripping, Bumblebee/Sam story, but also, this incredibly amusing Bleach/Transformers crossover. Oh yeah, you read that write. Basically, when Jazz "dies" he ends up in Soul Society. It's hilarious. I almost feel sorry for Yamamoto. There's three of them: All That Jazz, Jazz It Up, and Jazzed. And Jazzed is the funniest of them. The image of a bunch of Shinigami trying to push Megatron through the tiny Hell's Gate? Yeah, you'll never get over that.
She also writes Avatar: the Last Airbender fic and a lot of Piandao and Jeong Jeong stuff, which is one of my favorite pairings/friendships. She also writes a lot of Fire Nation, Zuko, and Iroh stuff. Not a lot of slash, but enough wonderful Gen to make me happy.
Azar doesn't, however, write explicit smut, so if that's what you're looking for, it's not to be found here. BUT, you don't even notice the missing smut because you enjoy the rest of it too much.
