Monthly Update

dracoqueen22It's August! It's the first Sunday in August! It's the perfect time to discuss what's going on.
Well, as many of you have probably noticed by now, I've moved primary updating to dreamwidth, on account of livejournal occasionally going down. I'm keeping all old links to the livejournal pages, but new links will be linked to their respective sites. So if livejournal goes down, visit my dreamwidth for any updates.
Secondly, in the ongoing effort to locate new platforms for posting my original fiction, I'm slowly but surely uploading my stuff to FictionPress. It's a good place to serve as a tertiary archive. As many times as I've lost data... one can never have too many backups. Plus, there are many people who find it easier to favorite and track stories when they are in an archive like Fiction Press. So you can now find me there, too, under the same penname as always: dracoqueen22.
Followers of my Original Fiction: Keep an eye on my homesite, the Den of Debauchery. We're 74 hits away from snagging a request fic and 75 hits away from winning a copy of one of my three published fictions. In contrast, Pandora's Box, my fanfiction homesite, is 3796 hits away.
In that vein, I have just finished all three of the request fics in my queue. Two have been returned from beta and one of them waits to be sent, after a final lookover from me. I should start posting them soon.
Writing wise:
I've finished The Beautiful Lie. This calls for a celebration! But only once I post the last chapter. Even now, Azar's working on finishing up the last of the interludes and I'm speeding up my updates. I've been working on this story since February 2009 and at the rate I'm going now, the last chapter should be posted in February 2012. Fitting, ne? (It was first posted in April 2009, but I started writing it in February).
In the meantime, my interest in Bleach continues to dwindle. I've decided to cap off Seireitei Monogatari drabbles at 200 so I'll be spending some time over the next couple of months polishing some drabbles to end that series. I've tons of ideas, but alas, no urge to write them. How disappointing.
Minutes to Midnight, which has been lingering on the In Progress list for far too long, will also finally see the change to Complete. I have three ficlets I need to write, polish, and post, and then I can call it complete as well. Sadly, the sequel, After Dark will not be written. I'm actually not altogether happy with the fic with a lot of canon revelations, so it's even harder to dredge up interest for this fic. Que triste.
Fear not, however, I will finish The Butterfly Effect. It's next on my fanfiction to do list, though I may take a step back and work on some other projects first.
Like Head Over Feet (my last FF7 piece). Five is a nice number to end this series with, which is a good thing, because chapter five brings everyone the smut we've been waiting on the edge of our seat for. Once I write and post the fifth piece, I'll be calling this ficlet series done as well.
I also mentioned, in one update, the fact that I signed up for the Superman-Batman Big Bang. Why? When I've got a dozen other fics that need writing and less time to do it? What can I say? I'm a masochist. lol. Anyway, I've got a plot and a plan, and I'm going to start writing this soon. Eventually. Sometime before October 1st at any rate. Wish me luck.
First things first though, I'm getting back on the bandwagon for The Break of Day. I owe you guys lots of chapters for it, so I'm going to buckle down and write, write, write. Got to get a bundle of them to send to the beta, poor Azar, who's busy with med school, so I've got to give her time to work on them.
I'm also very, very behind on Wolf in the Fold. You've all been stuck with recycled updates to War of the Animum for quite some time now. This story needs some attention. "Course, I do plan on ordering some art for this series, too.
In that vein, I just signed the contract with Torquere Press to publish In Darkness Dwells. We are tentatively looking at a date sometime in November for publication. Which means (looking at my schedule), end-of-August, early-September is going to be fraught with edits. Busy times.
Hmmmm. I think that's everything for now. Whew. A lot.
