Ugh. Editing has got to be the most tedious part of the writing process. It's hard to get it done because my attention keeps wandering. And where does it wander? To SuperBat and Transformers of course. As of late, more Transformers because September is going to be SuperBat month. Huzzah!

So while I'm neck deep in comma misplacing, name rearranging, and overindulgent adverbs, I thought I'd share another fic rec. Once again, it's Transformers. This time it's one author in particular.

I present to you The Starhorse. Found on both fanfiction.net and on deviantart, what I love best about her is that her fics are Gen. No pairings whatsoever. And yet, I am still drawn in, still intrigued, still utterly impressed. Her writing is flawless and gut-clenching and hilarious in all the best kinds of ways. I believe I recc'ed her fic "Blue 42" last time, but now, I'm reccing all her TF stuff. My favorites? (Can I name them all, lol)

Phoenix which tells the story of Ratchet and Sideswipe, their relationship (re: Ratchet yells, Sideswipe gets broken, Ratchet fixes him and yells, lather, rinse, repeat) and one that really highlights the brutality of a planet-wide war. The fic is told from Ratchet's POV and made me think a lot more in depth about our grouchy medic. Made me think about some things I hadn't considered before. Ratchet's behavior comes off as brutal at first, but as she peels away the layers, you realize the truth of things.

Rain Over Blue Water another fic featuring Sideswipe, this time from his POV. He has a bad day, does some slightly illegal stuff, and ends up having Optimus Prime apologize to him. This one gives you another look at the twins and their relationship to the Autobot cause. Also gives a deeper understanding of Optimus. I really like how she handled this one, particularly at the end.

But They Might Hope, Sideswipe makes another appearance, but this time from Prowl's POV. Poor Prowl and Sideswipe literally get stranded on a deserted tiny island (perilously near to a Decepticon stronghold) and must cope with this as they wait for rescue. It's a really insightful look at the relationship between the twins, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, and an interesting conversation about the concept of love and what it means. Highly recommended.

BUT! The awesomeness doesn't stop there. She's also a brilliant artist, but while her paintings and sketches and drawings are pretty, what I really love are her photocomics. Because I'm that much of a dork.

I highly recommend reading "Sunstreaker's Mission" and it's sequel "Revenge of the Tactician." The first because it's adorable and hilarious and features a snark-tastic Mirage. The second because it's hilarious and features a devious Prowl.

Her photocomics are the entire reason I'm so glad I bought a Lugnut toy because he's so adorably stupid in her comics. I wish my Lugnut spoke like hers does.

And Wheeljack! Never has he been so creatively destructive and amusing! His Ratch-o-Locator is the greatest! (And apparently, Ratchet gives the best Best Friend hugs).

But THIS one with Prowl and Jazz (in a best friend kind of way of course ) is probably my favorite. You can understand it without reading the rest of the comics in the series, but I'd still suggest checking out the others, too. Possessiveness FTW!

Ahem. I definitely recommend checking her out!
