XMFC Fic Recs

dracoqueen22So I thought, what should I post today? And I realized I had no clue. Then I thought, hey people might like to read, how about some recommendations? So here I am. Recommending some X-Men: First Class fics. Don't know if I have any fans on my f-list but if I do... have at them! They are all Erik/Charles, by the way.
The Masked Man (Who Has Everything). On one of the many kink memes associated with XMFC is this wonderfully amusing Batman AU. Seriously. Erik still has his magnetic powers, but he's also Batman. And Charles? Still psychic and yet the perennial damsel-in-distress, without the damsel. Or distress. Ergh. You have to read it. SO HILARIOUS. Also, all the other characters make an appearance in perfect cameos. Perfect fic for fans of the movie who know nothing about X-Men otherwise.
Words Will Bring Us Together. Another on the kink meme. Woefully unfinished. But heartclenchingly beautiful and funny and perfect in every way. Set after the end of the movie and told in a series of letters, newspaper clippings, etc, this details the way the "kids" try and fix the "divorce" between Erik and Charles. This one makes my heart hurt in all the best kinds of ways.
Hospitality. This one's dark, twisted, and very much AU. And also beautiful. In another world, Charles was forced from his home only to find a place by Sebastian Shaw's side as his trusted telepath and plaything. When Erik inevitably comes seeking revenge, Shaw decides to give him a taste of the benefits of being an evil overlord - starting with Charles. Erik must choose between vengeance, power, and pleasure.
The God Boy and the Soldier. Another AU. (Frankly, there are only so many directions one can take with the actual movie). Also, this is another one on the kink meme but totally worth a read. AU where Charles never made it to the college, and somehow fell into the hands of bad people who had interests in his power, Erik was still with Shaw and trained into an killing machine. One day he ran into another boy in the research center, who was locked up and being experimented on like a lab rat.
