Dying in December
Dec. 2nd, 2017 08:02 am ... figuratively, of course. :)
It's just that there's so much going on right now that my head is spinning and I have less time than I need and more things to do in it. With us being terribly understaffed at work, one of my co-workers having an emergency at work that required an overnight hospital stay and a trip to the ER that had us all scared out of our minds, my mother trying to make the justice system do it's job to get her protection from an abusive husband, bills cropping up out of nowhere with not enough money to pay them, having to go to the doctor myself to find out I strained my left shoulder and oh hasn't that been fun, and goshdang Xmas right around the corner, it's just exhausting!
Then I looked at the calendar on this, my only day off this week, and realized it was the second of the month and had missed my first of the month update post. So. Figuratively dying in December.
On tap this month? SURVIVAL.
I kid of course but I honestly don't see as much writing get done as I want. I'm going to doggedly work on commissions, I hope to finish at least two during the month in my free time. I'm about halfway through the list now. The Crown the Empire Postscript took more time than I expected cause it kept growing legs from one, to three, to finally six chapters. But the first draft is done now so yay!
Next up on the list is a Sunstreaker/Rodimus/Starscream and a classic, the OT3 Ratchet/Sunstreaker/Sideswipe. All very, very good stuff.
I always want to work on a few private projects, if I can, which is a follow-up to Chasing Cars, where Ratchet and Rodimus figure out how to work together to make their new triad a success, and also, the much-delayed final part of Interwoven, the last in the trilogy, where Megatron and Ratchet both learn how to survive in a post-war world when they've already lost the one thing that mattered most to them.
I don't know how much of that I'll get done, but I'm hoping all of it. I've also got tons of ficcage in my second-draft folder that need to be edited. I'll tackle those if I can't find the time to focus on writing first drafts.
Anyway, that's December. Happy Winter Holiday of choice to everyone! And Cheers!
