Completely forgot to do this in February apparently. Ooooops. At least February was a productive month with all the commissions I finished, and knocking out the first draft of Half and Half, my lesbian vampire novel.

But here I am in March to make up for it! Still coming off the heels that was the wildness of 2020, I'm trying to make 2021 more productive. Goals for this month include::
  • Finalizing the edits of Out of the Woods and formatting it for self-publication
  • Completing the outline of the first arc of the Tethers series
  • Try and finish writing Despicable Me in the And Bridges Burned series
  • Host one Flash Fic Weekend
  • Build my Subscribe Star for Launch in April

Lots to do this month and -fingers crossed- I can do it all.

Cheers~

Just July

No adjective this time, just July, because boy is July going to be a hard month. Financially at least.

June was successful in many ways. I blew through the first draft of the original novella I plan on submitting, got at least one bit of feedback on it and am waiting for the second while I go through the editing round. Hopefully, I can get that polished up and submitted in time. *fingers crossed*

But I'm also having to close my Patreon. They are being selectively censoring of the content they allow. NSFW is fine, but certain fictional kinks are not, which they wouldn't even have noticed, if I hadn't warned my patrons like a good creator. My page was already marked 18+ only and all nsfw hidden behind a paywall, but they still have to think about the safety of the children who use their sight. *rolls eyes* Anyway, they wanted me to delete MOST of my content to continue to use their service, so fuck them and their censorship, I'm closing the whole thing.

I'm going to hate the loss of that income, but I can't censor myself just because Patreon and all those other companies are participating in this war. So I'm deleting my Patreon as of today.

It's also a hard month financially IRL. Losing a bonus from my IRL job through no fault of my own set me back, and it's been a hard struggle to keep my head above water. So July is a month of doing all the commissions I can, as well as selling toys, to try and boost my income as much as possible.

I've got six commissions left, so I'm definitely tackling as many of those during this month as I can. Started on one, plotting on another, plotting on a third. Maybe I can get half of them done and keep on trucking. I'm ready to start knuckling down and putting serious work into my original stories, but I gotta knock out these commissions first.

In free time, if I've got any, I'll probably be trying to work on either my Critical Role fic "Bloodlines" or finishing up Despicable Me as the last part of my Once Burned TFP series.

*fingers crossed*

As always, if you have any questions or curiosities, feel free to give me a poke!

Jolly June

If anyone knows where May went, could they tell me? Because I swear I blinked and I missed it. Thirty-one days and I have no clue where they all went. Sheesh.

It was a busy, busy month. I wrote a lot of original fiction in May, really felt the drive for it. And I tackled one of my lengthier commissions and started a shorter one. The plan is still to finish my commissions as soon as possible, that way I can take a breather and focus on personal projects. It's going to be a hit to my income, but I think my creative health needs that break.

I love Transformers, I honestly do. I still love the characters and the universe. I'm not IN love with it as much as I used to. Writing Transformers is like sliding into a comfy pair of shoes, but I'm ready to try out a few new pairs and see if I can work them in, challenge the muses a bit.

I definitely want to focus on original stories again, even if they never see anywhere further than my own computer. I'm excited to create new worlds and new characters and see if I can breathe life into them. I'm also working on a bit of a SEKRET project, and when it bears fruit, I'll be eager to see what everyone thinks. *fingers crossed*

So June is more of the same. Trying to catch up on books I haven't read, movies I haven't seen, games I haven't played, this huge stack of comics and manga... Tackling my commission queue one by one by one. Working on WIPs to try and knock those out one by one by one. Taking creative breaks to knock out an original oneshot or two.

I did revise my Patreon starting for June. On the advice of others, I eliminated the $1 tier and created a single $2 tier. I started the Patreon only prompt polls again, though for now, I'm the one who'll be making the suggestions for patrons to vote on. As time goes by, and I clear up some free time, I'll adjust that again. I think I was too ambitious with my first foray into Patreon, and I had to dial it back into something more manageable. As I finish WIPs and clear out my commission queue, I should have more free time to focus on Patreon. Again *fingers crossed*

Anyway. That's June. Let's see if it speeds by as quickly as May, eh?

As always, if you have any questions about WIPs or projects, feel free to drop me a line. Happy June!

So January was a month. A very, very busy one. Lost some time there in the middle for a vacation, but it was worth it. I definitely needed the time away, and I got to leave the country for the first time, and it was a great experience.

I have not accomplished any of my fic goals yet, but I don't despair. There's still time!

I did, however, accomplish some other things. I watched several new movies (the 2017 Beauty and the Beast and Coco to name a couple) and I finished reading Terry Pratchett's Men At Arms, plus comic called Strange Lore that I supported through a Kickstarter. So yay for that.

Goals for February are pretty gentle since it's a shorter month. Wanna finish at least two commissions on my list, I want to participate in the FJolly week, I need to edit my last zine contribution fic, and I want to finish Uncharted Territory Part One because I miss my harpies. XD

And somewhere in there, I'll celebrate my birthday I guess. lol

Other than that, I'll work on more fics here and there, but those are definitely my focuses.

Hope everyone has a happy February!

So August was a pretty interesting month. Full of IRL stress, but progress on the things I wanted to complete online. Got two more commissions down the hatch, which makes my ongoing list down to five. Huzzah! Posting continued in an ordered fashion. I got started on my Patreon, but haven't finalized anything yet. Goal is to get that going in October, because by then, I should be down to the last one or two commissions.

What's on tap for September?

Well. Definitely want to finish three of the five commissions on my list for sure. I want to knock out at least one or two of the WIPs from my On Deck folder, clear out all of the August fics from my Second Draft folder, and keep my posting pace. I've been thinking about original fic a lot lately, so I want to keep brainstorming for the potential fic I want to write for NaNo in November.

So September is going to have work on All the Queen's Treasure (the InsectiQueenSunny fic) and two commissions for sure -- a SG!Ratchet/Drift and a Ratchet/Sunstreaker with a sideorder of Ratchet/Bob. Going to be very challenging and I'm very excited.

Anyway, that's September! Gone in a flash like August. lol

Happy trails!

A day late and a dollar short, but better late than never, right? Life's been so busy lately, I feel like I'm treading water in a river that's steadily rushing downstream toward a giant waterfall.

(with rocks at the bottom of course)

(bring it on)

So August is for doggedly working on this list of commissions and trying to finish as much as I can. I'll take a break mid-month for a wee vacation, and spend a week working on my own projects, just like I did in July.

Commission project wise, seems like August is the month of Ratchet/Deadlock and Cyclonus/Whirl/Tailgate. Both are pretty lengthy, so I suspect they'll take the whole month.

Personal project wise, I like to wait until the moment strikes to see what the muses wanna work on. I suspect they're leaning toward All the Queen's Treasure or Raise the Bar. I've got a hankering for either Insecticon action or some StarBlurr lovin'. lol

For funsies, I've not been reading much original novels, but I'm trying to get back on that. I have, forever, nearly demolished my stack of comics finally. It's only taken forever. I get so behind so easily. It doesn't help that I'm simultaneously addicted to Critical Role and Supernatural, and I keep flipflopping between the two fandoms for fanfic reading. They're dragging me under...

Anyway, that's August. I'm going to keep on trucking and hopefully make some progress.

Cheers!

 ... figuratively, of course. :)

It's just that there's so much going on right now that my head is spinning and I have less time than I need and more things to do in it. With us being terribly understaffed at work, one of my co-workers having an emergency at work that required an overnight hospital stay and a trip to the ER that had us all scared out of our minds, my mother trying to make the justice system do it's job to get her protection from an abusive husband, bills cropping up out of nowhere with not enough money to pay them, having to go to the doctor myself to find out I strained my left shoulder and oh hasn't that been fun, and goshdang Xmas right around the corner, it's just exhausting!

Then I looked at the calendar on this, my only day off this week, and realized it was the second of the month and had missed my first of the month update post. So. Figuratively dying in December.

On tap this month? SURVIVAL.

I kid of course but I honestly don't see as much writing get done as I want. I'm going to doggedly work on commissions, I hope to finish at least two during the month in my free time. I'm about halfway through the list now. The Crown the Empire Postscript took more time than I expected cause it kept growing legs from one, to three, to finally six chapters. But the first draft is done now so yay!

Next up on the list is a Sunstreaker/Rodimus/Starscream and a classic, the OT3 Ratchet/Sunstreaker/Sideswipe. All very, very good stuff.

I always want to work on a few private projects, if I can, which is a follow-up to Chasing Cars, where Ratchet and Rodimus figure out how to work together to make their new triad a success, and also, the much-delayed final part of Interwoven, the last in the trilogy, where Megatron and Ratchet both learn how to survive in a post-war world when they've already lost the one thing that mattered most to them.

I don't know how much of that I'll get done, but I'm hoping all of it. I've also got tons of ficcage in my second-draft folder that need to be edited. I'll tackle those if I can't find the time to focus on writing first drafts.

Anyway, that's December. Happy Winter Holiday of choice to everyone! And Cheers!

February was definitely a month of anxious change, and March will find me learning to settle into this new job and finding a new rhythm. I suspect the anxiety is going to linger until I get more confident.

I'm back to that writer's block. I don't have any words. And I feel kind of... empty inside right now. Hard to get excited or interested in anything right now, which is making it doubly hard for those words to come.

Commissions are still closed. I have a few that I owe, including the Postscript for Crown the Empire and the edits for a Ratchet/Drift/Rodimus, and I'll keep poking at those. I also have a Barbarian AU Commission that I need to finish. I have a few personal projects I might poke at, see if I can find the original enthusiasm I had for them. And of course, all of those WIPs lingering.

Careful observers might note that I've marked several things on AO3 as complete now. They were usually ficlet collections or in the case of "A Happy Bottom" things that were always meant to be 'as inspiration strikes'. I'm marking them as complete because I don't know if I'll get inspired to add to them again. I deleted a couple original fics from there as well.

If you've been looking to buy any of my published works, now's the time. By the end of March, I plan to unpublish all of them and tuck them away until I have both time and inspiration to actually give my original fiction the attention it deserves, along with promoting it and such. All of my original fic blogs are going on hiatus, too. If you continue to see A Royal Pursuit published anywhere, please don't buy it. My publisher went out of business and I have not received, nor will I receive, any royalties from the sale of that short story.

March will still see some updates. I've been writing some things here and there, and polishing up the last of some things I wrote before the writer's block swallowed me whole. It'll probably be in huge update dumps though because I'm trying not to let disappointment set in. That's another story altogether though.

Otherwise, it's all the same. Kinda sorta on hiatus. Nothing is abandoned. Nothing is up for adoption. Though there's a good chance fic ideas that I never wrote, or never started posting and only half-wrote, won't ever see the light of day. Still too early to say.

Anyhow, massive thanks to people who are sticking with me through this... whatever this period is. I still hope that the muses come back because I know how frustrating and disappointing it is to be left with unfinished stories.

See you next month!
