August in Action

dracoqueen22So July came and went and I accomplished all but one of my monthly goals. So ya know what? I'm going to call that a win. \o/ Even better, I came to something of a decision when I've been dithering around for the past month weighing and debating and considering my options.
I decided that I'm almost thirty, I'm jobless and I'm tired of saying "tomorrow". So I'm going to do it. I'm going to try and make something of myself as a writer. I'm going to look for a part-time job instead of a full-time career. I'm going to supplement my income with commissions, book sales, and freelance writing. I'm going to publish as many stories as I can and submit as many as I can to publishers. And I'm going to give myself a year. If after that time, my situation hasn't improved at all (aka, I'm still only capable of selling about ten copies of my original fics in all, and I'm in debt up to my ears) then I'll hang up the towel, find me a full-time career to pay the bills and push everything else back to the hobby it needs to be. Maybe in ten, twenty years when I'm more financially stable I can give it a second go, but for now, it's make it or bust.
Decisions! I have made them!
So what does that mean in the long run? Well, I'll be focusing a lot more of my attention right now on commissions and my original fic. I'll be promoting it more. I'll be publishing it more. I'll be talking about it more. I'll still write fanfiction because that's my happy place, but instead of updating twenty times a month, it might only be ten. Priorities go to commissions. That sort of thing.
Soooooo. Enough about me! On to what projects you can expect to see from this month/what I do intend to be working on.
What's on tap, writing-wise:
Phew. Yeah. I think that's everything. Big, big changes ahead! I'm both excited and terrified. :D
