dracoqueen22This ficlet series is actually one of my older series of stories, but one that I'm particularly proud of. The pairing is rather unique and I'm quite fond of the way it turned out. Also, I consider it one of my better works and even I'm surprised at the path the tale took. Originally, it was supposed to end with the first drabble, but kept expanding into something much longer.
The whole series labors under the title "Daring to Breathe" and the eventual pairing in it is Kenpachi/Shuuhei.
Yes, you read that correctly. Kenpachi/Shuuhei. Who would have thought? Certainly not I. It definitely expands the realm of crackdom.

Description: Inner musings lead Shuuhei to seek out a friendship he never expected. Nor did he ever think it would lead to more.
1) Blind -- Shuuhei wonders how he didn't see it coming, how he missed all of the signs. Rated: T.
2) Poisoned Rationality -- Shuuhei mused on it for hours on end before realizing he had nothing left to do but ask. Rated: T.
3) Dance with the Devil -- Friendships deepen as Shuuhei discovers the honesty of the eleventh division. Rated: T.
4) The Deep End -- Shuuhei thinks he might have lost his rationality somewhere along the way to want to do something this dangerous. Rated: T
5) Falling Away -- Just like a tide, swept away in the deluge, Shuuhei had no control over himself every time he was in this man's presence. Rated: M.
This is also the series where I continue to refer to Shuuhei being a knitter. *laughs* It shows up quite repeatedly in my Seireitei Monogatari series but is also a point I make in Daring to Breathe.
