I got to pondering today, as I struggled to stay awake after a long day of work, and I started thinking about my original fiction.

Why?

Because so many of them fit neatly into the same worlds, especially those that you might not expect.

So I thought I'd share these connections with everyone. I thought someone might be curious.

First, we'll go with War of the Animum. Why? Because it's my most expansive slash series. And while you might think it stands alone, it actually doesn't.

Surprise! My short story The Seeker actually features the main character Frost from War of the Animum. He goes under a different name there -- Frayr -- but then, Frost is not his original name either. It is only one of many aliases. Also, Beryl from recent chapters of War of the Animum is an important figure in The Seeker. Of course, this refers to the expanded version of The Seeker that I'm currently seeking publishers for.

It doesn't stop there.

Remember The Requiem of Janus? It, too, takes place in the War of the Animum's universe. Same world, different time. Yep, it's a thousand years in the past of War of the Animum's current storyline. If you follow this series, you will remember many characters making casual mention of a war that happened a thousand years ago, something that happened the first time Balaam dared rebel. This war? It's the focus of the sequel to The Requiem of Janus. But I'm not going to spoil that plot for you. I'll let you see it for yourselves.

But wait. There's more. *gasp*

The Requiem of Janus is actually a sequel to my two-part book series "Erland" which is composed of book one: Prisoner of Conscience and book two: Best Intentions. Erland, the title character of the series, is actually Alcaeus' grandfather.

These stories are all connected in such a way that you aren't required to read all of them to understand the plots or enjoy the stories on their own. But I get a secret sort of glee in being able to connect things like that.

Now, on to the next group. It's not as extensive as the last, but still pretty interesting.

My trilogy, The Mimickers, takes place in its own world known as Raetaen. There are several different races of creatures in Raetaen and one of them is known as the Leinm. You'd recognize these creatures. Why? Because in Aftermath, Rai and his friends call them the Ruhin, but they are the same race of creatures. When the mage in Umbra opened a portal to another dimension, he actually opened it to another world -- that of Raetaen -- and summoned most (if not all) of the intelligent members of Raetaen's Leinm population. As a result, the Leinm in Raetaen gradually lost their sense of humanity, until they became little more than humanoid beasts.

Interesting, huh?

I'm sure by now everyone's at least seen mention of my trilogy Infinity's End if they haven't started reading it. Well, my short story Monster takes place in the same world as Infinity's End, only beyond the boundaries of Talemar, which is where all of Infinity's End occurs.

Now, that's all for what I have connected so far. But I guarantee that it'll happen more in the future. I like connecting things and adding cameo appearances. It's exciting. After all, it leaves great openings for easy crossovers, yes?
