Character Highlight: Ione Tegan

dracoqueen22I was going to bring you the next edited chapter of Darkness Descends for War of the Animum. But, when I opened the file, it had a strange glitch in it where the quote marks were replaced with chinese characters. Why? I have no idea. But now I have to go in manually and fix each and every one of them, so I won't be able to post that today. Instead, you will get it tomorrow.
Today, I thought I'd focus on another character highlight. Today, I bring you Ione Tegan, the main character within my series Infinity's End, which is built around a trilogy of the same title, consisting of the works: The Edge of Tomorrow, Whispers of Yesterday, and Nycthemeron. The first is available to read and is complete, the second is finished and posting is in progress, and the third is currently being plotted.
Ione is the daughter of Souya and Lilah Tegan and is the youngest of five children. She has four overprotective brothers and grew up with a bit of a tomboy attitude. She's very close to her family. Her brothers dote on her and Souya treated her like a son, not knowing any better, and they have amusing interactions. Souya's idea of protecting his daughter is teaching her to defend herself so he doesn't have to, thus the daily training and random surprise attacks.
She's twenty-two and was born on June 12th. Ione was also born and raised in Moriarty, the low class section of Meropis that houses the commoners. Despite this, she was also born with an innate talent for magic, which was enough to impress one of the nobles and give her a scholarship to attend their prestigious academy, Conservatory. Thanks to it, Ione was given a position amongst the Brigade, where is determined to climb her way to the top.
As a child, Ione met Fenris, her wolf familiar, in the forest. And she honestly can't remember a time when he wasn't by her side. Fenris is her best friend and they often joke that the gift Ione gave to Fenris was her grace, because she is so very clumsy. She also has the tendency to speak her thoughts aloud, much to the amusement of her friends.
Despite being a member of the Brigade, the "army" of Meropis, Ione has never killed anyone. She has defeated opponents in battle and brought them in to be imprisoned, but she has never personally taken a life. At times, she can be quite naive, believing that her captives are tried and then imprisoned, the possibility of execution never crosses her mind.
Tall for a woman, Ione stands at 5"7 and has brown hair and light brown eyes. She can be aggressive when the situation warrants and has no problem speaking her mind. She loves sourdough bread but can't stand mustard, and if you ask Gale, her lover, he'll be able to list a bunch of other thing she likes, too: apple cider, the color green, marshmallows, chamomile, oranges, and history.
